Bio

Pastor Dr. Karlene A. Barnett, ThD, LADC, LPCA, is an esteemed member of our faculty. With an impressive academic and professional background, Dr. Barnett brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her students.
Dr. Barnett holds degrees from the University of Bridgeport, Ashford University, and the Power of Faith Seminary. Her journey in academia and ministry has been both extensive and impactful. As a psychotherapist with over 11 years of experience, she integrates her secular expertise in behavioral health with her deep-rooted faith.
In her ministerial role, Dr. Barnett serves as the Senior Pastor at Apostolic Reconciliation Ministries in Stratford, Connecticut, and as the Assistant General Secretary for New Covenant Apostolic Churches International (NCACI). Her commitment to ministry spans over 51 years, having started her service at the age of 12. She has been a Pastor for 12 years and an Assistant Pastor for 19 years.
Dr. Barnett has been an adjunct professor for VOTAM Academy for several years, where she teaches courses in Ministerial Conduct and Introduction to Behavioral Health and Christian Counseling. Her teaching philosophy centers around empowering students and witnessing their growth as they not only understand but also apply the concepts she teaches.
Dr. Barnett expects her students to engage fully, participate actively, and maintain an open mindset. She finds great joy in observing her students' progress and is committed to fostering a supportive and inspiring learning environment.
