Professor Garfield Dixon brings a wealth of experience to Victorious Bible Institute. He holds a Master of Theology and a Bachelor of Theology from Parkersburg Bible College in West Virginia, a Master of Business Administration from Heriot-Watt University in Scotland, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Marketing Management from Seneca College in Toronto. Additionally, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from the University of the West Indies, Mona, Kingston, Jamaica.
With over 15 years in the secular professional field, Professor Dixon currently serves as the Manager of Organizational Change Management with the City of Toronto. His career encompasses significant roles in marketing and communications, business strategy development, and organizational change management across both the private sector and government.
In his ministerial capacity, Professor Dixon serves at the Brimley Pentecostal Worship Centre in Toronto, under the leadership of Bishop Lionel Guthrie, and has previously served in the Church of God in Christ Jesus Apostolic of Jamaica. With over 20 years of continuous service in active ministry, his passion for teaching is driven by moments when students truly grasp complex theological concepts, facilitating transformative learning experiences.
Professor Dixon is prepared to teach courses such as Principles of the Doctrine, Typology, Hermeneutics, and Church Government. He expects students to engage with open minds and willing spirits, emphasizing that education should not only impart knowledge but also transform lives. His teaching philosophy is rooted in making theological truths accessible and relevant, ensuring students develop a strong doctrinal foundation and a deeper understanding of Scripture.
